Definition
Additional characteristics of an ingredient that may be relevant to human and environmental health or have other environmental benefits when formulated in a product (e.g., designed for use in cold water).
Rationale
There is a need for place in the database where suppliers can note attributes of their products that may have environmentally relevant benefits beyond human and environmental toxicology when used in a product formulation. For example, ingredients that are effective in products at cold temperatures may help save energy typically needed to heat water for cleaning. Or, the use of certain other ingredients may displace the typical need for auxiliaries or have benefits at other points in the product life cycle.
