Irritancy in Surfactants
Rationale

Information on irritancy is useful to formulators, especially the key term that describes the degree of irritancy to skin or eyes. It is important to formulators from the standpoint of both:

  • worker safety and
  • product development.
Listing Requirements
In CleanGredients®, data are required if known (i.e. information on MSDS). Reporting of information on respiratory irritation is not required for surfactants. It was noted that any powder would be irritating to the lungs if inhaled.
