Certification, Recognition, & Eco-labeling

The Design for the Environment (DfE) Formulator Program is one of EPA's premier partnership programs, working with individual industry sectors to compare and improve the performance and human health and environmental risks and costs of existing and alternative products, processes, and practices. DfE focuses on industries that combine the potential for chemical risk reduction with a strong motivation to make lasting, positive changes. DfE partnership projects promote integrating cleaner, cheaper, and smarter solutions into everyday business practices. DfE has evaluated and allowed more than 1,500 consumer and industrial & institutional cleaning products to carry the DfE logo. Every year, DfE programs reduce the use of chemicals of concern by hundreds of million pounds.
